The Lincolns are an Adelaide based 4 piece Teddy Boy band who play a mix of High Energy Rock n Roll and Rockabilly classics with their own unique style and sound. Dressed in their drape coats, box jackets, drainpipe trousers and creepers, The Lincolns punch the songs out with the same enthusiasm, style, and energy as they were played when things were really kicking off in the fabulous fifties. They are guaranteed to keep you bopping the night away!
Biography
The Lincolns have only been rocking Adelaide with their unique style of 50’s Teddy Boy Rock n Roll since early 2011, but don’t let that fool you. The band is full of seasoned musicians with a passion for rock n roll that goes well beyond the bands inception.
Tony, Lee, Darren and Walter, first got together in late 2010, and played their first show at a simple back yard party in Feb 2011. From that point on, the bookings started coming thick and fast, and it wasn’t long before they were doing regular shows among the better known Rock n Roll venues throughout Adelaide.
Not only did they keep the pubs in Port Adelaide bouncing on a Sunday afternoon, they were picked to play on the Rockabilly stage at the 2011 Victor Harbor Rock n Roll festival, as well as securing a great billing at the Sunnybrae festival and playing the Dia De Le Los Muertos Festival in the same year. A great achievement for a new band, and something they are proud of, and… able to back up again in 2012 after again being selected to perform at these events along with some of the best bands in Australia right now.
Their first year also saw them playing at some interstate hot rod shows, country festivals, and at The Lucky 13 Garage in Melbourne.
The Lincolns are hoping to build on their early success, but had a setback at the end of 2011 when Walter (Drummer) was forced to put down his sticks for a few months while he underwent treatment. Thankfully he is back in action, and the latter half of 2012 and the start of 2013 has seen the band busier than ever, continually filling venues both locally and interstate.
In April 2013 the boys finally hit the studio to put a much requested CD together, and the result was Two Parts Whiskey. The CD featured their first 8 original songs, plus some of their favourite covers and has sold close to 1000 copies Australia wide and even overseas.
October 2013 saw The Lincolns getting their first chance at the Camperdown Cruise, which is one of the bigger events on the Australian calender. Such was their success and popularity over the weekend event that they were offered more shows at the associated Ballarat Beat in February 2014 where they performed 4 times to great crowds.
2014 also sees the boys heading interstate 10 times over the course of the year as their name and popularity spreads among Rock n Roll dancers across the land. Their 2nd CD, Teddy Boy Rock n Roll, was released in June 2014 and has been accompanied with a promo video put together by their great friend Dave Gartland, AKA The Midnight Rocker. Links to the video and some sample tracks from their CD are available on this website.
